New Year Greetings to all those who use this new ICCD website!

ICCD have decided to keep up with the world wide technology by introducing a new website. We want to update all chess fanatics with the latest chess news and follow the ICCD’s work in promoting deaf chess. Furthermore, we are aiming to show the deaf world that chess is indeed a sport – we have already achieved the first step by being officially accepted by the ICSD. And we shall be continuing our work this year.

The old ICSC website has served us well for a good number of years, and we wish to thank M. Visco and his Italian counterparts for playing their part in keeping all informed. It will not be scrapped until the 33rd ICCD Congress at Yerevan, Armenia so both websites will run in tandem.

There might be some technical difficulties so please be patient if this happens. I do recall at Zakopane 2000 when ICCD were struggling in setting up the new ICSC website – it was akin to putting up a film reel at a cinema!

2016 should be an exciting year for all chess players but for now, enjoy browsing the new website and do feel free in making suggestions – there’s always room for improvement!

Thank you for following us!

Phillip Gardner, ICCD President.
