Report of the inspection travel of the ICCD Secretary-General to Yerevan on February 8-9, 2016.
Purpose of the inspection was the check of preparation for the Individual World Chess Championships among deaf chess players in Yerevan on May 16-26, 2016 and rendering assistance to the Organizing Committee in preparation of the events. We have considered and discussed issues concerning hotel reservation, visa backing and transport facilities. We have examined premises for the Individual World Chess Championships among deaf chess players and Congress.
1. Accommodation
Organizing Committee has reserved Shirak Hotel (shirakhotel.am) for the Individual World Deaf Chess Championships .
While discussing conditions for accommodation the OC has found a possibility to reduce hotel staying at US$ 5.00. OC advices to participants to have meals in the city (it’s about US$ 10 per person (lunch and dinner).
Hotel is located nearby Downtown and there are a lot of restaurants and cafe around.
Please, find enclosed a new hotel reservation form.
Payment for hotel will be accepted in cash on the date of arrival in US Dollars. Payment in EURO at the exchange rate of the National Bank of Armenia on the arrival day is possible.
2. Visa Support
Participants from Europe and former USSR countries do not need visa providing traveling passport.
Such countries as Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Mongolia, Turkmenistan and Israeli will need visa. Please, contact Embassies of Armenia in your countries to specify information. For information you can be on site http://mfa.am/en/visa/
Organizing Committee will send official invitations to the aforesaid countries to obtain visa.
3. Venues
The Individual World Deaf Chess Championships will be held at the Chess Academy of Armenia ( www.chessacademy.am ). They have every facility to hold the events at top level.
33rd Congress will be held at the Congress-Hall ( www.congresshotelyerevan.com ). It is 5 miutes walk from Shirak Hotel.
4. Transport Service
All participants (who reserved Hotel via the Organizing Committee) will be provided with transport facilities:
1. Airport – Hotel – Airport;
2. Hotel – Chess Academy – Hotel;
3. Sightseeing outside the City .
